From 1 December, Dr. Oliver Barnstedt will take up the newly established junior research group leader position for “Multiscale Circuit Analysis” at the University Medical Center Göttingen. The neuroscientist and his team will investigate how the hippocampal memory system integrates sensory and motor information to form long-lasting memories and, importantly, how precisely these memories are influencing behavioural action. His group is using advanced optical tools such as multicolour in vivo two-photon calcium and closed-loop optogenetics alongside high-resolution tracking of behaving mice and computational analysis to understand how neural circuits give rise to perception, memory and action.
This junior research group leader position is based at the European Neuroscience Institute (ENI).
