Professor Gerd Hasenfuß received the Leopold Lichtwitz Medal of the German Society of Internal Medicine (DGIM) at the annual congress in recognition of his great services to internal medicine. Hasenfuß has been Director of the Clinic for Cardiology and Pneumology since 1998, University Professor of Internal Medicine at the University Medical Center Göttingen and a member of the MBExC.
With this medal, the DGIM honours great physicians, exceptional clinical teachers and researchers for their lifetime achievement, who have made an outstanding contribution to the interests of internal medicine and the DGIM through their work and commitment.
