This year, the 25,000 € Klüh Foundation award for the Promotion of Innovation in Science and Research goes to MBExC member Prof. Dr. Jutta Gärtner. The director of the Clinic for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is being honoured for her research into neurometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases affecting children and adolescents. She focuses her research on rare diseases such as childhood dementia and childhood multiple sclerosis. Her work aims to decipher the causes of these diseases and create the basis for new therapeutic approaches.
