HSC Methods Course “Introduction to Electron Microscopy”

Description:
The seminar is dedicated to early career scientists with different background and of different career levels with an interest to understand how electron microscopy helps biological discovery, especially in the field of structural biology and cell biology. It requires no pre-requisite knowledge. It provides a basic introduction to modern electron microscopy, how it works and what it can do. This seminar provides a primer to a more detailed seminar on electron microscopy, which will be announced later. The detailed seminar will cover the physics of the electron microscope, sample preparation techniques, data processing methods, and a guided tour to the coming EM facility. The planned demonstration will be postponed due to the still existing social distancing obligations regarding the Covid-19 situation.
