HSC Methods Course „Mass-spectrometry based proteomics“
Description: The goal of the three-day practical course is to familiarize participants with basic steps of proteomics sample preparation, mass spectrometric data acquisition, protein identification and semiquantitative protein profiling. Starting from a Coomassie-stained BN-PAGE separation of proteins from a cell lysate, the participants will be guided through the following steps: cutting of gel slices, in-gel tryptic digestion and extraction of peptides, mass spectrometric data acquisition using data-independent acquisition (DIA), protein identification and quantitation using Spectronaut software, protein profiling for the detection of intact protein/protein complexes, workflow and data review.
Schedule:
3 whole days course 3rd – 5th November, 2026
Lectures: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.; Practical part: 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Supervisor: HSC instructor Christof Lenz, Proteomics Facility, UMG
