The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1286 ‘Quantitative Synaptology’ at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) for a further 3.5 years from 1 January 2026. This is already the third round of funding for the research consortium, which was launched in 2017. The total funding requested amounts to more than eleven million euros. The spokesperson for CRC 1286 is Prof. Dr. Silvio O. Rizzoli, Director of the Department of Neuro- and Sensory Physiology at UMG, spokesperson for the Center for Biostructural Imaging of Neurodegeneration (BIN) at UMG, and member of the Göttingen Cluster of Excellence ‘Multiscale Bioimaging: From Molecular Machines to Networks of Excitable Cells’ (MBExC).
