Claus Ropers receives Diels Planck Medal

Solid state physicist and MBExC member Professor Claus Ropers from the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences and the University of Göttingen receives the Diels Planck Medal of the Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science (KiNSIS). Ropers is being honoured for his experimental pioneering work in the field of ultrafast structural and electronic dynamics. He developed methods to understand the complex properties of materials and to directly investigate processes occurring in them on the time scale of femtoseconds. The award ceremony took place on 30 June 2022 as part of the scientific conference “International Intelligent Materials 2022” in Kiel.
