The physicist Prof. Dr. Sarah Köster from the University of Göttingen and member of the MBExC has received the EPS Emmy Noether Distinction for Women in Physics 2019 (summer) of the European Physical Society (EPS). The EPS honours Köster’s groundbreaking contributions to the physics of biological cells and biopolymers, especially in the field of intermediary filaments, as well as her impressive skills in teaching and recruiting women scientists in her field of research, according to the selection statement.
