Jutta Gärtner awarded Hamburg Science Prize 2019

Prof. Dr. Jutta Gärtner, Director of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University Medical Center Göttingen and MBExC member, has received the Hamburg Science Prize 2019 “Congenital Rare Diseases” in Hamburg City Hall in front of over 100 invited guests.
With this award, the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg honours Prof. Gärtner’s groundbreaking work in the field of rare congenital neurometabolic diseases in childhood and adolescence.
The prize is endowed with 100,000 euros, the highest endowed prize of a German science academy. It is donated by the Hamburg Foundation for Science, Development and Culture Helmut and Hannelore Greve.
