Prof. Dr. Peter Rehling, Director of the Institute of Cellular Biochemistry at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), spokesperson of the Göttingen Collaborative Research Center 1190 “Compartmental Gates and Contact Sites in Cells” and member of the Cluster of Excellence “Multiscale Bioimaging: From Molecular Machines to Networks of Excitable Cells” (MBExC), has received another Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). The ERC will fund his research project “Mitochondrial gene expression ‘MiXpress’” on the mechanisms of gene expression in mitochondria, the power plants of the cell, for five years with a total of around 2 million euros.
