Data Scientist (f/m/d) for image analysis and high performance computation

We are searching for a candidate to support data analysis within MBExC. Scientists in MBExC acquire large sets of image and other data and develop artificial intelligence based methods for the required data analysis. Your main task will be to implement robust analysis workflows that run on high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure to support these efforts. You will collaborate with data science and data management experts to achieve these tasks. This work will be in close collaboration with the Göttingen Campus Computing Centre (Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung Göttingen e.V., GWDG). As part of your position you will be a liaison with GWDG, to set up MBExC relevant HPC infrastructure for interactive and batch data analysis tasks and to provide further computational support.
Your tasks:
• Implement infrastructure for analysis tasks requiring interactive computation and a graphical interface on HPC resources.
• Provide first level support to MBExC groups for the installation of HPC computational infrastructure.
• Implement data analysis solutions in collaboration with MBExC scientists.
• Document data analysis with HPC infrastructure.
• Coordinate communication between HPC experts and MBExC scientists.
Your qualifications:
• PhD in computer sciences, natural sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with HPC resources, in particular with slurm and containerization preferable.
• Experience with one of the main data science applications within the cluster, e.g. image or signal analysis.
• Knowledge of English is required.
